Cláudio Silva was born in Luanda but soon went to the United States where he completed almost all primary and secondary education. He also passed through Portugal and England.

He is a graduate of Boston University in Entrepreneurship and International Business. He lived for two years in New York where he worked in the financial services industry.

He currently lives in Luanda where, among other activities, he is co-founder and managing partner of Luanda Nightlife, the first portal for critical appreciations to restaurants, bars and hotels in Angola and the organiser of Angola Restaurant Week, the largest gastronomic event in the country.He loves to write and he is published on various websites and newspapers, including Africa is a Country, Roads and Kingdoms, The Guardian, CNN Travel, Bradt Guide to Angola, among others.
